Jesus, the Lamb that was slain

Jesus, the Lamb that was slain
The blood that was shed
To wipe away my every stain
My sins were as crimson
He has made me white like snow

Filthy, dead, and but a worm
Trapped in misery and sin
Mercifully, He called my name
By grace I could not turn away
In me a worm, He does rejoice

My Shepherd leads me on
Directs my foot upon my path
Gently guides with rod and staff
I walk the straight and narrow
Upheld by His right hand

I often wander, going astray
He holds me tight in His hand
Beloved of God, bought with a price
His Spirit leads me, groans for me
Through grace, I die to flesh

I’ll finish the course in victory
Sanctified along the way
Becoming more like Christ
To God be the glory, praise His name!
He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
