For the New Year,
this I pray
Make me more like you
dear Jesus, meek and lowly
May my light shine
bright, though there’s darkness all around me
Please don’t let me
be lukewarm; help me to serve You more
To carry through, to
act and not just to dream
May my works be pure
and loving, kept from the spoil of pride
Try me like silver, refine
me like gold, mold this lump of clay
Nourish this branch
from the Vine
May my beauty come
from within; vanity admonished
Draw me near and hold
me close; strengthen our sweet union
Make me fall to my
knees in praise and adoration
May I never grow
weary of Thee; restore me when I wander
Oh Lord Jesus, let
this be my prayer from day to day
Not just something I
consider at the dawning of New Year
While I’m here upon
this earth, may I grow in grace
You are perfect,
holy, just; full of glory, awesome God
Every moment, every
hour, may Your will be done
In Your name I pray, Amen
