When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2
I wrote this poem while going through deep waters in early 2016. I am thankful that I am enjoying a calm season at the moment, but I am also thankful for the distressing moments in my life that God has used for good.
Tears of anguish on
my cheeks
Shaking like a leaf
I’m frail. I’m weak. I
can’t go on
In the midst of
choppy waters deep
Almost drowning
Flailing, fighting,
losing hope
There’s so much
turmoil within
Where is God?
My frail faith is
shaken
Just as my head
starts to sink
Peace flows in my
soul
He sets my feet back
on the path
I will go on, he
strengthens me
To the end I’ll go
Praise God! By grace
I’ll overcome
